📍Bengaluru: In a landmark move that will reshape India’s higher education landscape, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) is all set to launch its first-ever Undergraduate (UG) Programmes starting from the academic year 2026–27.

 

IIMB’s entry into UG education marks a strategic leap aimed at bridging the gap in multidisciplinary undergraduate programs of global standards in India.

 

🎓 The Programmes:

 

✅ B.Sc. (Hons) in Economics

✅ B.Sc. (Hons) in Data Science

 

Both are four-year residential programmes offering core specializations and minors in Business and the complementary domain (i.e., Economics will include Data Science and vice versa). These align with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and are designed to equip students with both theoretical insight and real-world applications.

 

🔍 Admission & Eligibility:

•Entry via a national-level aptitude test followed by an interview

•Test will evaluate maths, logical reasoning, English, and general knowledge

•Students must be minimum 17 years old by Aug 1, 2025

•Minimum academic qualification: Class 12 with Maths, and 60% marks

•Quantitative risk management

•Supply chain optimization

💰 Course Fees & Infrastructure:

•Annual fee: ₹8.5 Lakhs (with scholarships & concessions available)

•The UG residential programme will be based at IIMB’s Bannerghatta National Park Campus, with 40 students per stream initially, scaling to 640 students by 2031
