Past opposition leader YS Jagan in Vizag present opposition leader Chandra Babu Naidu in Renigunta

TDP opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu was reportedly detained at Tirupati airport in Renigunta while he was on his way to Tirupati and Chittoor towns to stage a protest against the alleged excesses of the ruling YSRC leaders on the TDP cadre to withdraw their nominations from the ensuing elections to Urban Local Bodies in Andhra Pradesh.
The police, who denied permission for the TDP chief to stage protests at both Tirupati and Chittoor, did not allow him to leave the airport.
Naidu squatted inside the airport and is reportedly staging a protest against the police denying permission to his tour in view of the Model Code of Conduct in force and also under Covid-19 restrictions.
Chandrababu Naidu was seen argu ing with senior police officers and even staging a sit-in for being denied passage. A senior police officer then sat beside him and pleaded with folded hands, in an attempt to convince the former Chief Minister from attending the protest.
He shared a video of the confrontation at the airport on Twitter. “We will not be stopped. We will not be silenced. Your fear-driven, state-sponsored vendetta won’t stop me from reaching out to my people. Grow up,” he said, addressing Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The opposition party YSR Congress, leader Jagan Mohan Reddy along with his party MPs confined at the Visakhapatnam airport. The YSRC leaders had arrived by a scheduled flight to take part in the candle light protest on the Vizag beach demanding grant of special category status to Andhra Pradesh.
YSR Congress leader Jagan Mohan Reddy and his companions were told by the police that no rally would be allowed on the beach road or anywhere in Visakhapatnam, as the Republic Day was being observed.
