During his three-day campaign in the four districts from February 27, he will meet public in Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi and Kanyakumari districts.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was down-to-earth approach, humour, clarity in thoughts on pressing issues appealed to the party workers as well as the public. Even when he criticised the ruling BJP and the AIADMK, he was decorous. As the public acknowledged his points with wild cheers, Gandhi addressed gatherings even at unscheduled places.
On February 28, a huge crowd waited at Paavoorchathram, Surandai and Sernthamaram, all in Tenkasi district, and greeted him with flower petals.
On March 1 Rahul Gandhi also showcased his dancing skills in Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu
during the school tour. He partnered a few students of St. Joseph’s Matriculation Higher Secondary School on the stage for a group dance. The Congress leader also competed with a student for a round of 15 push-ups.
On March 2 Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra interacting with tea garden workers in Sadharu tea estate in Biswanath. During her visit, Priyanka not just interacted with workers, but also picked up a basket and started plucking tea leaves.
However, two years later, as the Congress fights another major electoral battle in five assembly elections, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi seem to be controlling the poll campaign.
